The SAE 40 viscosity grade provides strong and stable lubricating-film protection at normal and elevated engine temperatures. Its viscosity characteristics help maintain separation between moving metal surfaces, reducing friction and metal-to-metal contact while protecting critical engine components such as pistons, cylinder walls, bearings, camshafts, and valve-train parts during heavy-load and high-temperature operation.
